Eligibility:
- The Prairie Art Contest is free and open to all persons aged 6 to adult that reside in the province of Manitoba. Contest divisions are ages 6-10, 11-14, 15-17, and 18+.
- Only one entry allowed per person.
- Entries must abide by the guidelines below and be submitted by one of the options listed below. Entries must be submitted by September 14, 2024.
Artwork Specifications:
- Artwork must be the contestant’s original creation, you may not reproduce any other artists work and present it as your own or use AI generation. Photos, videos and other artwork may be used as inspiration only when creating your artwork. Any artwork found to infringe on copyright laws will be disqualified from the contest. Any artwork that is an exact replica of a photo or other work will be disqualified.
- Art should feature a prairie plant species of your choice, such as a grass, wildflower, shrub or tree. The species must be native to Manitoba.
- Artwork can be created as a painting and drawing or can be created digitally.
- Artwork will be judged on its creativity and how well it represents the species chosen. Artwork will be judged by local artists and judged in two categories: physical art (painting or drawings) and digital art.
- Artwork must fit on an 8” x 12” piece of paper.
- Artwork should be signed on the front or back of the art submission.
Artwork Return Specifications:
- Artwork can be returned to contestants upon completion of the contest. Contestants will be notified when artwork may be picked up from the Living Prairie Museum after winners have been selected.
- Winning artwork will be displayed on the gallery wall at the Living Prairie Museum for the 2024 winter season and can be picked up at the beginning of 2025.
- Artwork will be retained for pick up by the Living Prairie Museum until February 2025.

-Plant species in your artwork
- These details can be written on the back of your art submission or on a separate sheet of paper accompanying your submission.
- Contact information is necessary for contacting winners and returning artwork.
Submitting Your Entry:
- Option 1: Drop off your artwork to one of the following locations:

-Prairie Originals at 27 Bunns Road, Selkirk
- Option 2: Mail your artwork to the following address:

Terms and Conditions, agreed to upon submission:
- I grant exclusive right to the Winnipeg Wildflower Project and Friends of the Living Prairie Museum to utilize my artwork for display, promotional purposes or fundraising.
- I agree that my artwork may be shared on social media without compensation to me.
- My name may be shared for media purposes. Winnipeg Wildflower Project and Friends of the Living Prairie Museum will not share my contact information without consent.
